Russia undermines the collective West

The change of the owner of the White House in the United States and the reflection, including by European officials, on the political balance within Russia, after the first protest wave on January 23, set the framework for the behavior of the collective West and Moscow. There is a process of probing the situation, collecting data to understand what the positions of the current Russian leadership are, and how serious the hidden struggle is unfolding within the framework of the transfer of power. The courage of Navalny, who, after being poisoned by Novichok, found the strength to overcome fear and return to the lion's mouth, is highly respected, but there are no special hopes for Putin's removal. As a trigger of protest and escalation of the Kremlin towers ' struggle, he and his investigations are good, but as a battering ram that breaks through the walls of the Kremlin's defense line, it is still very weak. The January 31 protests will shed more light on this issue.

On January 26, at the initiative of the Russian side, President Biden and Putin had a telephone conversation. It lasted 35 minutes, and took place only after detailed preliminary consultations of the American leader with key NATO allies. Equally important, the conversation took place after the Senate confirmed Tony Blinken, known for his anti-Russian stance, as US Secretary of State. The communication was very unpleasant for Putin. A sign of this is the official news reports about the conversation in the typical post-truth spirit for Russians. Biden put forward a number of weighty claims to the Kremlin: interference in the US elections, hacker attacks, cooperation with international terrorists against the US military, aggressive actions in Ukraine, attempts to physically eliminate opposition leaders. But the Russian media carefully circumvent these theses, covering only " common points for strengthening peace and stability." Putin's advisers, it's scary to think, recommend that Putin try to buy Biden. As the first gift, the Russians brought in their teeth an unconditional extension of START-3, and are ready to continue to grease up by any means for the sake of a business discussion. But the American leader is resilient and well aware that this is a game of thimbles. But in Europe, the politicum seems to have succumbed to the blindness, and is ready to abandon democratic values for the sake of money.

Russian donkeys loaded with gold do not give up and have already arrived in Strasbourg to make the next batch of purchases they need for the dirty manipulations of politicians. The aggressor country, through its envoy to PACE, Pyotr Tolstoy, wants to put pressure on the Assembly's chairman, Hendrik Dams, and shift attention from the problem of the occupation of Crimea, the war in the Donbas, and political reprisals against dissenters in Russia and Belarus to the problems of democracy "west of Vienna". Thus, it reveals the role of the Russian special services in organizing mass protests and riots in France, the Netherlands, and Germany. The interest of chaos is obvious. How can an occupying state read any lectures and hypocritically demand respect for itself, if it has been wiping its feet on international law for decades? What are the notorious amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation concerning the priority of Russian laws over the decisions of international organizations and international conventions? Today, Russian terrorists invade Ukraine or Georgia, and tomorrow, too, shamelessly "polite people" will land somewhere near Berlin, hiding behind the victories of their grandfathers in 1945.

How to understand the proposal of the PACE Monitoring Committee, voiced by Shtafan Shannakh, to confirm the powers of the Russian delegation and to abandon sanctions against the Russian Federation. All this is for the sake of "dialogue", as if everything is forgiven to Moscow. It is striking that while the American leader calls for curbing the aggressor, somewhere in Strasbourg, a group of officials, for the sake of their own self-interest, disavows the promises of the US leader. The Russian enemy is already deep inside, and the lack of understanding of this reality leads to the destabilization of the entire Western bloc.
