On April 20 this year, the first blast furnace at DMZ was put into operation. According to the "DNR" media, 15,000 tons of pig iron has already been melted in this furnace. 

Now they are trying to start the second furnace, which was stopped in 2019 with violations of technology, and this will actually require a complete replacement of all internal equipment and will take about 3 months to repair.  Technologically, both furnaces can produce up to 1,700 tons of pig iron per day, but even in stable times before 2014, the two furnaces were producing up to 90,000 tons of pig iron per month. It is almost impossible to achieve this level in the "DNR" due to the lack of regular and sufficient supplies of raw materials, as well as due to a number of other technical problems.
