To share your files with Internet users, anyone can create a torrent file and arrange distribution on a particular torrent tracker. The torrent file, which is later attached to the distribution on the torrent tracker, must be created using a torrent client. We use for these purposes the most popular program for working in the BitTorrent network - µTorrent. And as an exemplary torrent tracker for distribution, we will choose the largest Runet torrent tracker - Rutracker.Org.

Well, let's get started. To create a torrent file in the µTorrent program window, click the "File" menu, and in it - "Create a new torrent".

A window for creating a new torrent will appear. In the column "Select source" select, respectively, the "File" button to create a distribution of one file or the "Folder" button if it is a batch distribution consisting of a series of files. If the distribution will consist of several files, for example, episodes of the season of the series or a selection of tracks, pictures, books, etc., all these files must be in one folder. 

We clear the "Trackers" column if it contains any addresses. For Rutracker.Org, all the necessary web addresses will appear later automatically during the distribution process. If we are talking about another torrent tracker, the web address of the resource can be entered in this column, but such points need to be clarified in the FAQ on the website of each individual tracker. Leave the "Part size" column with the default parameter - "auto-detection". Uncheck the “Start distribution” option, since any distribution must first be registered on Rutracker.Org. We set the option "Keep file order" if there are several files in the distribution. Click "Create".

Before you create a torrent file, you need to take care of a convenient place for distribution files on your computer. Movies, music, pictures, books, games and programs that we want to share with other people via the BitTorrent network, of course, are best stored in a separate folder on a non-system drive, and, as mentioned, along with torrent files.

So, the torrent file has been created, now we can go to the torrent tracker and arrange distribution. Both for the ability to download torrent files, and for the ability to post them on the Rutracker.Org website, registration is required.

After registering on Rutracker.Org, anyone can distribute the file. To do this, you must first select the appropriate section and subsection, and then click the "New Topic" button.

Before you place a distribution on Rutracker.Org, you need to use a search to track if there are identical distributions on the site - films in exactly the same quality, distributions of exactly the same assembly of the operating system, installers of exactly the same version of the program or game. The same movie, the same game, program, book and other files may be present on Rutracker.Org in different distributions, but these distributions must differ at least in some way - the version of the program or game, the presence of a keygen, interference with the operating system for its modification, file format and quality for video and music, etc. If you distribute a file that is already present on Rutracker.Org in the same form, the moderator will delete your distribution. So - without originality, no one needs your altruism. By the way, don't be too upset if you suddenly find that Rutracker.Org contains almost everything that is on your computer. The world is evolving so dynamically.

Another important aspect of the design of file distribution on torrent trackers is respect for the copyrights of the true copyright holders of the content. But this is already a matter of conscience for everyone and in general a separate topic that does not concern technical issues. In any case, you need to be prepared for the fact that if your distribution violates someone's copyright, it will be closed at the request of the copyright holder.

After pressing the "New topic" button, we will see the form for compiling the distribution of files. If you are distributing a file for the first time, it will not be superfluous to carefully read the distribution rules on Rutracker.Org in general and the rules for distributing files specifically in the selected section. They will be listed at the very top of the giveaway form.

Below we will see the form fields related to the file being distributed directly. Title, description, pictures, details of distribution files - all these points must be filled in. Handout pictures - previews, screenshots and content images - can be found in the images of any search engine. It is also possible to upload your pictures from your computer using the offered image hosting. To make it easier to fill out the distribution form, you can open the distribution of any file in the same subsection as a good example. Depending on the specifics of a particular section and subsection of a torrent tracker, the fields of the distribution form may be different. After filling in all the required forms, click the "Continue" button.

The page of the issued distribution in the current version will appear. Here we can change the font size or color, apply bold, italic or underline style, add smileys, edit the description, etc. For example, in our case, a collection of books is distributed, but not all of them are in DjVu format, as was indicated in the form field, which provides for specifying only one format. Therefore, we manually add the phrase “+ PDF” in the format column. Scrolling down to the very bottom of the page, we can click the preview button to see how the hand will look after editing. We can also use the image upload button to additionally add to the distribution, for example, screenshots of a program, operating system, game, movie, etc. 

Well, the last thing you need to do to complete the design of the distribution is, of course, attach the torrent file to the case. Click "Download file" to, accordingly, download the torrent file created earlier in the µTorrent program.

Next, we will see a notification about the successful registration of the distribution on the torrent tracker and further instructions on what remains to be done. And there is little left to do - download the torrent file of your own distribution on Rutracker.Org and put it in your place for uploading to the folder where the original file (s) is located. Click the link "You need to download it", download the torrent file and open it in the torrent client.

We assign the download folder exactly the folder where the distribution files are located on our computer. Be careful, by default, µTorrent and other torrent clients provide for the creation of an additional folder with download files inside the specified download folder. It is better to uncheck this option and point the µTorrent program to a specific folder where the distribution files are located.

If the path of the distribution folder was specified correctly, the distribution in the torrent client will be checked and will be displayed as a completed download with the status "Distribution".

This status is automatically assigned to each first distribution of the user, who, so to speak, is still a debutant in this business. The pre-moderation status does not allow downloading a torrent file until the distribution, and with it the sincerity of our good intentions, is checked by the moderator of the torrent tracker. This, as you understand, is a way to protect against narrow-minded people who deliberately distribute infected files. But these are already internal rules and the system of operation of the torrent tracker itself. It is better to familiarize yourself with all this before starting any specific actions to realize your altruistic potential. So, distribution on Rutracker.Org may not pass moderation, even if it does not contain any threats. In order for the distribution not to pass moderation, it is enough just to arrange it incorrectly.

To make changes to the design of the distribution or re-upload the torrent file (ie, delete the existing one and upload a new one), on the page of the designed distribution, click the "Change" button and make the necessary adjustments.

Everything - the distribution on Rutracker.Org is framed. As you can see, everything is not so difficult. It is much more difficult to delete your distribution on this torrent tracker. In this case, the input is a ruble, the output is two. There is no special function for deleting a distribution on Rutracker.Org, moreover, it is forbidden to independently delete distributions that have passed moderation - that is, remove the descriptive part data and the downloaded torrent file. You can refuse the authorship of the distribution by contacting the administration of the torrent tracker. Then the distribution will simply be transferred to another user account, but it will exist on the site itself.

If the distribution has not yet passed moderation, its design can be minimized and the torrent file can be deleted. Then the moderators themselves will delete the distribution.
