The Artificial Intelligence (AI) interface ChatGPT has collaborated in the production of the world's first wine made with the help of AI. The End cuvée, from Languedoc négociants Aubert & Mathieu, has been produced in a limited quantity of 600 bottles and is reportedly the first winery to market a wine resulting from the collaboration between Aubert & Mathieu, producers of quality wine from Languedoc, and ChatGPT, one of the world's leading AI interfaces, as the label indicates.

According to French wine news website Vitisphere.com, the négociant was "first in line" among winemakers interested in jumping on the AI ​​bandwagon. "We asked him to make an exceptional organic Languedoc wine using the available Grenache and Syrah grapes, we sought his advice on winemaking and blending ratios," Anthony Aubert, company co-founder and managing director, told Vitisphere.com.

Typically appreciated by those who hate producing things through committee, ChatGPT uses vast amounts of data available on the internet to find the best answer to the questions posed. Thus, the AI ​​suggests a line of best fit between numerous data points.

The platform suggested a blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, which it said "generally makes for a balanced, fruity wine, but the proportions can be reversed for a more tannic profile."

"ChatGPT's responses about the best winemaking methods and blending suggestions regarding grape varieties, color, tannins and fruit are amazing," Aubert said.

The interface also suggested a burgundy-shaped bottle ("great for displaying wine," he said), though Aubert and Mathieu bypassed the suggested retail price of between €50 and €100, opting for a more affordable price of €20. €.

Interestingly, there is no mention of what the wine tastes like, an IGP Pays d'Oc. We will have to wait until natural intelligence can put it in its mouth and give its opinion.
