During the offensive in the south and near Bakhmut, the Armed Forces of Ukraine use rockets manufactured in North Korea. This was reported by the Financial Times, whose journalists visited the front line.

Ukrainian soldiers demonstrated the issue of rockets for the Grad missile system near Bakhmut, which are manufactured in the DPRK.

One of the gunnery commanders, whose name is Ruslan, said that the Armed Forces do not like North Korean missiles because of their low quality, which often misfire or fail to explode. Judging by the marking, the material says, the ammunition was produced in the 1980s and 1990s.

A fighter from the Ukrainian battery warned journalists not to get close to the installation during the salvo, because the missiles from North Korea are "very unreliable and sometimes do crazy things."

At the same time, Ruslan said that the Defense Forces need every missile they can get.

Gunners believe that the missiles were handed over by a "friendly" country that "captured them on a ship." Yuriy Sak, adviser to the Minister of Defense, emphasized that the projectiles could be trophy shells.

"Russia has purchased various types of ammunition from various tyrannies, including North Korea and Iran," he added.
