The explosion occurred on Monday evening (at about 21:50 Moscow time) at the intersection of Kulinskaya Street and Federal Highway in the village of Novokuli at the exit from Makhachkala.

According to the authorities, the site of the initial explosion was allegedly located in a car service, which is located opposite the Nafta24 gas station, and then the fire spread to the gas station itself.

“From this point of the explosion, containers detonated in front of a standing gas station, resulting in a fire and a fire,” said the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov.
