Kursk nuclear power plant was attacked by drones
The Kursk nuclear power plant was attacked by drones. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that three aircraft-type drones were “destroyed” or “intercepted” over the territory of the Kursk region on the evening of October 26, within a few hours of each other.
According to Baza, all three drones attacked the Kursk nuclear power plant. The explosive devices carried by two of them did not detonate for some reason. The third drone, the publication claims, exploded near a nuclear waste warehouse. According to Baza sources, the explosion damaged the façade of the warehouse building.
The press service of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant confirmed the attack by “three enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.” The telegram channel of the nuclear power plant claims that there were no casualties or destruction, the nuclear power plant is operating normally, and the background radiation “is at the level of natural values.”
Authorities in the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, have been regularly reporting Ukrainian drone attacks over the past few months. In particular, in early September it was reported that a drone crashed in the city of Kurchatov at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
