Rosfinmonitoring announced the creation of a tool that allows tracking financial transactions of Russians made in cryptocurrencies. The head of the department, Yuri Chikhanchin, announced this in an interview with Izvestia.

According to him, the system in question is called “Transparent Blockchain” and makes it possible to “move along the chain” in order to reach the sender and recipient of the transfer. Chikhanchin claims that Rosfinmonitoring can now monitor the movement of funds in 30 cryptocurrencies in this way. He also noted that the department has already managed to include 19 thousand “gray addresses” in the database.

Chikhanchin said that “Transparent Blockchain” will be launched in “a number of Central Asian states,” and Arab, Latin American and African countries are also showing interest in the technology.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia the first charge of treason was brought against a person who used cryptocurrency to send money to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was about a resident of the Khabarovsk Territory, Alexander Vechirko. The funds, according to Russian investigators, went to the account of a “foreign charitable foundation” that purchases drones, thermal imagers, ammunition and medical uniforms for the Ukrainian military.
