Unmanned fleet of Ukraine 🛩 About drones and their role in the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Part 1 - Where UAVs are made https://t.me/rybar/45656

Ukrainian formations are actively preparing for an attack on the territories liberated by Russia. One of the methods of fire support for the attackers will be the massive use of strike UAVs not only on objects near the front line, but also in the depths of Russian territory.

Back in December, we wrote that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have more than 2,000 different drones. Some of them were supplied or purchased by Western countries and are already being used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in attacks on Russia, such as Warmate, Mugin-5, Bayraktar TB2, Poseidon and so on.

But most of the unmanned fleet of Ukraine are UAVs of their own production or modernization. On the industrial base of Ukrainian military-industrial companies and enterprises, with significant support from Western countries, assembly, modernization and repair of UAVs were established.

▪The main part of UAVs, their design and development are carried out on the basis of several private companies and industrial enterprises in Kyiv. It is in the capital and its environs that the headquarters of various companies that have received targeted funding for the development of this area are concentrated.

▪Also, serial production of drones has been established at the facilities of large factories, such as Khartron and Kommunar in Kharkov, or the Yuzhnoye and Sfera design bureaus in Dnepropetrovsk. Moreover, in the "Sphere" underground complexes for assembling UAVs are equipped.

▪The development of inertial navigation systems and software is carried out by specialists from the direction of physical modeling of aircraft flight modes at the Aerospace University in Kharkov with the support of engineers from the West.

▪Components for manufacturing and upgrading droneThey are bought by commercial companies, in some cases through nominees, in Germany, China, Canada, the USA, France, Japan and India.

▪At the same time, in order to expand the production base, the leadership of Ukraine is considering the option of organizing serial production and handicraft retrofitting of UAVs in Poland and other countries of Eastern Europe.

In the current situation, the prolongation of the armed conflict played into the hands of the Ukrainian formations: the defense industry of Ukraine, thanks to huge assistance from European countries and the United States, managed to develop this area and establish a handicraft assembly droneov-kamikaze

Even before the start of the SVO, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used UAVs of their own production in clashes in the Donbass, but there has never been a mass use of them as shock weapons over long distances. It was the fact that the Ukrainian side was able to hold back the offensive of the Russian army that convinced Western states to provide assistance in the development of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.

Thanks to this, now the Ukrainian formations are armed with the Alder MLRS and the Grom-2 OTRK. There are only a few launchers on the balance sheet, but NATO engineers managed to finalize the defective Ukrainian development and establish their production in the same way as drones.

Part 2 - What to expect from the Ukrainian attack https://t.me/rybar/45657

The range of produced drones is quite diverse, ranging from small copters with an installed grenade release system to droneami converted from light aircraft.

For example, Aerodrone» The assembly of the D-80 Discovery and D-300 Enterprise models has been adjusted. These UAVs are high-winged tricycle landing gear powered by an internal combustion engine with a three-bladed nose propeller.

Also, there is a multipurpose droneUJ-22, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine use both for reconnaissance and for delivering strikes on Russian territory. And variability droneov, converted into drums and produced in large numbers of UAVs, is quite wide. About 500 units were assembled alone UJ-22.

Some types of UAVs are still being finalized and have not been put into mass production, such as the Dovbush T10, and some can no longer be recreated due to the lack of a scientific and technical base and specialists. These include the Tu-141/143 Swift / Flight.

Almost all aircraft are equipped with a GPS satellite system receiver and are capable of flying along a given route. And the warhead attached to them depends on the technical characteristics of the drones.

Some restrictions on the part of SpaceX regarding the use of Starlink satellite communications systems on strike UAVs were partially offset by the use of alternative means: in Germany, US military personnel actively purchased Netgear Nighthawk M1 mini-routers from private companies, which also provide a stable connection.

What will happen next

From the end of autumn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to accumulate produced drones, limiting their use at Russian facilities. It was then that the mass use of Chinese commercial UAVs "Mugin-5" began, which were brought in huge quantities from China through Poland.

If by the end of December there were about 2,000 units, now their number has increased. FPV-drones, which have already begun to be massively used in the Maryinsky area; soldiers of the RF Armed Forces say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will use them in an “unmanned swarm”, creating a lot of trouble for infantry units.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are integrating new technologies into the realities of combat operations, using them both in defense and offensive. First there were Maviks with a grenade release system, then the Chinese Mugins and converted Soviet Swifts appeared, and now drones with first-person control.

By characteristic signs, we can say that the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for activation on the front line is almost completed. During March, FPV-droneWe brought in the necessary equipment.

The Ukrainian offensive will most likely begin in the next week or two. And this attack will begin with the massive use of attack drones along the entire line of contact to overload air defenses and distract Russian troops.

After that, artillery and MLRS will be used, which will work out on the identified positions of anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations, as well as warehouses with ammunition and weapons, but the main task of disabling the air defense system should be provided by UAVs.

At the same time, long-range drones, such as Strizh, UJ-22 Airborne, D-300 Enterprise, Dovbush T10, will most likely be used to attempt strikes deep into Russian territory against important military and civilian targets. This will create an initial effect of panic and confusion in Russian society.

Western countries are driving Ukrainian formations on the offensive. The fight to the last Ukrainian citizen should begin soon. If we look at the statistics of UAV strikes from December to February and compare them with March, we can see that the number of UAV strikes has decreased.

And this is connected with the preparation of a mass launch droneov-kamikaze exactly before the start of the offensive. Views:
